The Cessna Grand Caravan operated by Aerodiana took off from Pisco Airport carrying eleven foreign tourists and two crew members. Shortly after departure, things fell apart. The crew radioed an emergency to the control tower in Nazca. Then, silence.
The plane crashed in the Pueblo Viejo area, roughly four miles from the city of Nazca and twelve miles from the ancient geoglyphs. Impact triggered an intense fire.
